December: Light Bright
Is the dark getting you down? With a DIY light and an escape to a sunny spot, we’ll help you brighten up.
Is that a UFO or just a trick of the light? Admire a blowtorch through diffraction glasses. Learn how we see light and what that means for looking at the night sky.

With a canvas and some holiday lights, create your own unique light to chase the dark away. While supplies last.

Can you say sunshine? Escape to a tropical paradise in the library. More affordable than the real deal, and it will still brighten your day. Free for play and selfies with your camera during all open hours.
Can you use Arduino to turn on a light? See if you can create the code and make something happen. No experience necessary, but space for this activity is limited.

Light Bright for Children
Play with interactive light displays of many kinds and colors; try out Snap Circuits, black lights, light tables and more. Appropriate for grades K-6.

Go electric and make a light to illuminate your dark corners. For grades 6-12.
